Yes, finally there is a fix for this.

I just downloaded lastest version of monogame for android, and it works on my android phone with CocosSharp 1.6.2:
Using the latest Alpha makes .xnb files added as BundleResource zeroed out in the project folder while building the project.
Don't know if it is the same for all BundleResource, but it should not change original files while building?
Have you also looked at "Required Components" for the build host here ?
To build for Xamarin.iOS, you'll need:
