NullReferenceException, .xib files wiped out

More than once, I've double-clicked a .xib file from the project tree to open it in XCode, and Xamarin Studio beachballs for several seconds before giving a message box indicating a null pointer exception.

Then, all my .xib files are no longer in my project. They still exist on disk, but I have to go and manually add them back to the project. Once the .xib files are added back, double-clicking then works. So the problem is transient... But very, very frustrating.

Anyone else seen this? Is there some kind of log or report generated that I can send to help get this bug squashed?

This should be fixed in an upcoming release (if my patch didn't make it into 4.0.3, it'll be in 4.0.4)

  • All my xib files dissapear from the project when I refactor a class name. Can renamings also refactor names used in xib references? in my case I got references in strings in my project.

Thanks @jstedfast. I have 4.0.3 and still have the problem, so I'll look out for 4.0.4!
