Hi Michael! Can you be a bit clearer what's not working? Which 2 solutions are you referring to?

    1) Recreated the folder Users/username/Library/Developer/MonoTouch'
    2) restarted both machines
    3) checked for updates

Is this still happening? I think there were some issues with the beta channel for a day or two..

I gave up on beta and rolled back unsuccessfully
    I get this error now
Error 2 Metadata file 'C:\DJForm\DJForm\DJForm\bin\Debug\DJForm.dll' could not be found C:\DJForm\DJForm\DJForm.iOS\CSC DJForm.iOS

tried beta again and still no good
    now I get

Note: this project is just the File/New/ forms project
Note2: the nugget update of xamrin forms fails "An item with the same key has already been added."

@MichaelStark.6283‌ For the "'C:\DJForm\DJForm\DJForm\bin\Debug\DJForm.dll' could not be found" error, have you checked the build configuration and made sure that the project is being built for your selected configuration? I see a lot of times in Visual Studio that it will deselect a project (usually the PCL) and only build the UI layer.
