Unauthorized request on build host

Hello,

Untill about a week ago I had no problems at all building iOS apps from visual studio on the mac build host, untill today I tried to build my new forms app.

I've copied this from the mac server log:

[21-Aug-2014 15:47:27] Handling with command: [Info: CommmandUrl=Info] (11)
[21-Aug-2014 15:47:27] Attempting to acquire command execution lock, timeout set to 00:10:00
[21-Aug-2014 15:47:27] mtouch 7.2.6.28 (606f31a)
[21-Aug-2014 15:47:27] Command [Info: CommmandUrl=Info] finished (11)
[21-Aug-2014 15:47:27] Warning: Command for URL /ExecuteTask not found, trying default
[21-Aug-2014 15:47:27] Handling with command: [Default: CommmandUrl=] (11)
[21-Aug-2014 15:47:27] Attempting to acquire command execution lock, timeout set to 00:10:00
[21-Aug-2014 15:47:27] Error: Invalid authorization data
[21-Aug-2014 15:47:27] Error: Unauthorized request from 192.168.0.102
[21-Aug-2014 15:47:27] Command [Default: CommmandUrl=] finished (11)

The pairing process does not give any errors and everything works just fine there, I've updated to the latest versions of the sdk and build host etc. Tried running my old iOS apps but it keeps saying unauthorized request. Rebooted, restarted VS, nothing works and I'm going slightly mad, even tried through various networks etc.

Hope I'm overlooking something or that anyone has had this issue before.

Thanks, Onno.

I have the same problem with the beta(3.5.39) and the alpha of Xamarin iOS and VS 2013.

  • BrendanZagaeskiBrendanZagaeski USForum Administrator, Xamarin Team Xamurai

One possible cause of this problem is if the Mac build host is on a different upgrade channel compared to the Windows machine.

Here are the current correct pairings:

    • Stable:
      Windows: Xamarin 3.3.47
      Mac: Xamarin.iOS 7.2.6.28

    • Beta:
      Windows: Xamarin 3.5.39
      Mac: Xamarin.iOS 7.4.0.104

    • Alpha:
      Windows: Xamarin 4.0.8
      Mac: Xamarin.iOS 7.9.3.53

Make sure to quit and re-open the Xamarin.iOS Build Host app on the Mac after upgrading.

Thanks Brendan that was indeed the case, it turned out Visual Studio is on a different update channel (alpha) than xamarin studio on the mac (stable). Changed visual studio update channel and everything works again.

Excellent. Glad to hear that got things working!

  • Hi brendan,
    I have the same problem!
I have already check if the Mac build host is on a different upgrade channel compared to the Windows machine ,but it is the same.

    Why I have this problem?

    Thanks.

I had it again as well, but restarted visual studio and the build host and everything worked again.

I have the same problem, both VS and Mac Side are on Stable... VS stalls a bit on "Fetching Manifest" then fails...

This just randomly started not working... I tried rebooting, unpairing, etc...

    Log:

    Fetching manifest...
Updating information about the remote server
    Uploading changes...
    Synchronizing with the remote server
    No response received from server.
    Remote build step failed.

I have checked channels on two sides.
Is it a Yosemite bug ?
Should i install previous version of OS on Mac ?
I'd like to start work as soon as possible :)
Wich is the safest way to pair everything ?
Is there Proxy/Firewall problems possible ?

I changed channels, restarted PC and Mac, restarted programs (VS, Build Host, etc ...)

  • I catched the same error after Xamarin update. I still haven't found a workaround.

  • MarkusHornMarkusHorn DEBeta, University

I got the same error after updating my mac / Xamarin (stable channel - BuildHost 7.4.0.108).
I could not deploy anything (simulator and Device) from VS 2013 - Update 2.

For anyone who's still seeing this issue, here are the latest version pairings. Unfortunately, there was also a bug in the Windows updater a few versions ago that stopped the updater from properly showing new updates, so be sure to double-check your version information by hand:

Windows: "Help -> About Microsoft Visual Studio"
Mac: "Xamarin Studio -> About Xamarin Studio -> Show Details"
(or check the bottom of the window in the Xamarin.iOS Build Host app)

Here are the current pairings as of today's releases:

    • Stable and Beta:
      Windows: Xamarin 3.5.57
      Mac: Xamarin.iOS 7.4.0.108

    • Alpha:
      Windows: Xamarin 3.6.188
      Mac: Xamarin.iOS 7.9.5.16

Make sure to quit and re-open the Xamarin.iOS Build Host app on the Mac after upgrading. If you still see the "Invalid authorization data" message after confirming your pairings, feel free to send an email to [email protected] (or one of the support email addresses listed on https://store.xamarin.com/account/my/subscription/) with your version information from both Windows and Mac. You can also zip up and attach the whole log folder from the Mac build host (~/Library/Logs/Xamarin/MonoTouchVS).

Hi, back to Mavericks (clean install from USB key), pairing works.

In my case i needed to know a simple working config : os and software versions that just works.

Xamarin documentation, installers and software should warn about developper preview osx versions and recommend a good working config. I lost a week of time, but now really happy to start learning the plateform.

    Best regards,

    Alexey
