Looking through all the output I cannot see where there error is.

    Seems I had an issue in a menu .xml file, @JonathanPeppers‌ removed all the drawables and that showed us the real error.

    git merge added another android:icon tag in it.

    For anyone who is coming here who is working with 9 patch images, you can also get this error if you forget to leave the top left pixel of your 9 patch images as transparent. Using the 9 patch tool from Google will generate them properly, but editing them yourselves, you might forget to do this and aapt.exe fails with explaining why (But if you run the same command at the command prompt you will see the error message. Just copy and paste the command line from the output window in VS to a cmd/bat file (Because its a REALLLLYYYY long command line) and run it to see the error message and which file needs to be fixed).
