getIntent() function?

BlazeyBlazey USMember ✭✭

In java we have getIntent() function.
How can I use it in .NET C# Xamarin code. I found Intent.GetIntent(string uri) but I need to pass an uri so I guess it's not the same.

    You could just use Intent in xamarin.
    For example:

            var myIntent = Intent;
            myIntent.GetStringExtra("mystring");

    The name 'Intent' does not exist in the current context

    This is the error no matter where I put this line of code. I'm trying to figure out how to enable Intent with no luck at all. I'm using Xamarin.Forms so NuGet does not find a package Android.Content that I should be using according to ALL the snippets I could find where Intent was used somewhere in the code.
