The app is developed using C# in xamarin and compiled for android, iOS and windows platform.

If you want to run coded UI tests for your XAML-based UWP application, each control must be identified by a unique automation property. You can assign a unique automation property based on the type of XAML control in your application.

    See the tutorial:
    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/visualstudio/test/set-a-unique-automation-property-for-windows-store-controls-for-testing?view=vs-2019

No, which IMHO makes using Xamarin.UITest pointless if UWP is one of the target platforms. I haven't done so yet, but I plan to throw away my existing UITests and replace them with Appium (see http://appium.io/ ). I really don't understand why Microsoft couldn't get their Coded UI team to work with the Xamarin team on getting UITest to support UWP. The only explanation seems to be that Xamarin/Microsoft still don't take UWP seriously.
