Forms Remove PackageTargetFallback references on Visual Studio for Mac, VS on Windows runs IOS.

Appreciate your help and effort, I am a beginner and I am stuck.

  • Project never run on IOS
  • Wanting to deploy/run it on IOS.
  • Updating packages on Windows implementing some IOS specific classes.
  • Now I can run it on Windows via "Pair to Mac" on an IOS Simulator.

  • Thinking about the deployment process I want to take the project over to the Macbook and run it there on Visual Studio for Mac.

  • On the Macbook after loading the project, I see the following:

PackageTargetFallback and AssetTargetFallback cannot be used together. Remove PackageTargetFallback(deprecated) references from the project environment.

And I see a blue information circle on the target for IOS with the comment:

Project not built in active configuration

  • I searched for PackageTargetFallback references within the project, but didn't find any, so possibly there is something inside the NuGet Packages.
  • After trying to build the project I do get the following error message:

Error: NuGet packages need to be restored before building. NuGet MSBuild targets are missing and are needed for building. The NuGet MSBuild targets are generated when the NuGet packages are restored. (MES.Client.Portable.GlobalClasses)

  • Trying to restore the packages by right clicking on the Solution - Could not restore packages. (no further error message)
  • Trying then to update the packages - Could not update packages (last of the logs are below:)

GET .....xamarin.forms.datagrid/index.json
OK ....xamarin.forms.datagrid/index.json 148ms
PackageTargetFallback and AssetTargetFallback cannot be used together. Remove PackageTargetFallback(deprecated) references from the project environment.

Do you have any suggestions on what I should do next?
Can I provide more information?

Thanks in advance
