Xamarin Test Recorder no more

The Xamarin Test Recorder no longer is available for recording tests it appears. The App Center team now owns testing and have released a CLI which perhaps will one day replace the lost functionality of Xamarin Test Recorder?

Other than write the Tests by hand, does anyone have a better way to get Xamarin UITests written?

I got this response from App Center. It looks like the super helpful tool is no longer around and we're back to a very inefficient command line.:

_Xamarin Test Recorder unfortunately is going away and not being replaced. If it continues to work for you locally then you may be able to keep using it for awhile, but no new fixes or updates will come out for it; and it's probably likely to stop working entirely as Android & iOS themselves get updates.

If you need help writing your tests, the main approach I'd recommend is using the Repltool: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/appcenter/test-cloud/uitest/working-with-repl?tabs=vswin This tool isn't actually "new", it's been around since before the Xamarin Test Recorder infact; and is fully supported (and will continue to be fully supported.) You can use it to query the UI of your app and also experiment with queries to confirm that they work locally._

Can't we make REPL possible to use it the other way around as well? Meaning that if you tap around in the simulator it would be picked up by REPL and added to its copy-history. So one would be able to navigate around in the simulator and then just issue a copy command in the REPL and you'd get the full history without having to write any testing code.
