I am looking for an autocomplete control which will allow me to pull data from an ajax request and limit the user to making a selection of an item that is present in the list.
There are several ways as follows:
1. Xamarin.Form Labs does have it, which is an open source toolset for Xamarin Forms, but it is just a beta version.
I hear the install and configuration can be tricky.https://github.com/XLabs/Xamarin-Forms-Labshttp://forums.xamarin.com/discussion/35991/how-to-install-setup-and-use-xlabs#latest
2. Check out SyncFusion. They've got a nice AutoComplete Entry and they have a free community edition that you may qualify for.https://www.syncfusion.com/products/xamarin/autocomplete
3. There is an autocompletetextview of www.telerik.com ,which is not free, but it has a 30-day trial. https://www.telerik.com/xamarin-ui/autocompletetextview
4. You could implement the function yourself.
You could use a list of datas as a bindableproperty, and listen to propertychanged in the renderer for that prop, when that changes, you can update the adapter.
The following link will be helpful: https://mindofai.github.io/Creating-Custom-Controls-with-Bindable-Properties-in-Xamarin.Forms/
@jezh Thank you for reply. I am going to check them out.
