Does TapCoordinates() in Xamarin.UITest only work within the application?

I am trying to test a cross platform application that when it clicks a button pulls up the native push notification asking permission to the camera. I am running into problems trying to UI test this, as I cannot use the Tap(e=>e.Marked("ALLOW")) or Tap(e=>e.Text("ALLOW")) because the popup is not within the application. I cannot get TapCoordinates() to work either - does TapCoordinates() only click within the application as well?

I was not able to solve it - the Xamarin.UITest does not support interacting with the device outside of the application. I ended up writing up manual test cases instead of automated UI Testing
