How to force use of "Generic Device"

HeruHeru FRMember ✭✭

Hi all,

In order to publish my app on the app store i am trying to compile it with Generic device selected as a device.

I'm unable to do that, i've used one Xamarin live player and now my generic device have been replaced by a Wifi iPad.

Is theire some way who could allow me to force Visual studio to show me "generic device" ?

Thanks you in advance

I have the same problem @Heru, on VS for Mac. Did you solve it?

On the dropdown I'm offered physical devices that previously were connected on USB but now no longer are, so something is clearly wrong.

By making selections on the dropdown and connecting/disconnecting the real devices, I can occasionally get offered 'Generic device' -- but a few seconds after I select it, the selection reverts to one of the simulated devices.

It seems to be a showstopper.

@Heru I solved it by (fully) removing Xamarin Studio for Mac and reinstalling it.
