This worked for me as I wanted to use Forms with Native SDK Integration

Anyone else had success with consuming Facebook iOS SDK to use native login instead of a webview fb login? The URL above seems to be outdated.

I have tried to consume the FB iOS SDK, and gotten the Facebook login-button to appear in my Xamarin.Forms application (on simulator), but when I try to run it on an actual device I get: "Application windows are expected to have a root view controller at the end of application launch" at startup...

    Hi,
I've just started out with Xamarin Forms development so was looking to do exactly this but couldn't find a sample using the latest SDK for iOS and Android that Xamarin have on nuget so I took an implementation using the older SDK and updated it.

    Sample can be found here

I tried this solution but i am getting all the time exception below, do you know anything about it?
Caused by: java.lang.NullPointerException: Attempt to invoke virtual method 'android.os.Parcelable android.os.Bundle.getParcelable(java.lang.String)' on a null object reference

I have never used this sdk but Parcelable is being called by a null reference, so I would suggest to you to check if its null before.

Mike, Just wanted to say thank you for posting the sample solution. I have been beating my head against the wall trying to get the newest version of the Facebook SDK to work with my Xamarin forms project. Your sample works like a charm. Thank you so much!

    Mike,

    Your example worked great! Thanks!

I'm now trying to take your code to the next level by adding Like and Share controls.

Do you have these? If not, what did you use for documentation to determine how to work with the Facebook API? I have done these functions on the web by calling Graph methods, but don't see any good info on making them work through the SDK.

    Thanks...Steve
