check for update gives error

When I use the check for upgrade from the tools menu, I get the following errors

    PS. even teh out of the box cross platform application does NOT build, why do I even try to build something if even your basic stuff doesn't even build properly.

    Can you please provide your current VS Version Information?

    In Visual Studio, version information can be copied from: Help -> About Microsoft Visual Studio -> Copy Info

    As for the AppData folder populating with items, that's because we save majority of our tooling's information there. This can be logs, cached libraries, app archives, and much more.
