Machine spec...

Ok, simple question here, trying not to break bank buying new machine.

I have a 4yr old Mac Mini, strugges running most recent emulators, looking at a new Mac Mini, here're the essential specs...

2.6GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i5 (Turbo Boost up to 3.1GHz)
16GB 1600MHz LPDDR3 SDRAM

ANY feedback? Opinion?

Thx

Are you using any x86 emulators with the Haxm drivers? http://motzcod.es/post/154096351292/setting-up-android-x86-haxm-emulators

If you are interested in not breaking the bank, then would it be cheaper to buy some physical devices instead of a new Mac?

  • Ken, Jim, thanks for feedback.

I will look at that link later and see what can be optimised to NOT need a new machine. Have tried creating additional emulator instances but these need "hardware acceleration" and apparently that's not available on current machine.

Btw, coding and compiling, no issues at all, just cannot run on anything but the lowest emulator and that takes 10mins to load up! Nothing seems right with that.

I will need devices eventually so if the first part works, yes, else need new machine first.

    Thanks!
