I use this in Visual Studio...
    https://visualstudiogallery.msdn.microsoft.com/3741d776-755b-4002-a6be-e86fa605a315

It works really well, and allows you to pick different colors, sizes, etc. It also downloads the different sizes.

@Arvindraja you wouldn't keep all icons even unnecessary ones.

Download svgs from official Google web site and put them into drawable folder.

@Arvindraja What version of visual studio are you running?

    i'm running vs2013 premium
with windows 7 8GB RAM and latest version of Xamarin installed

@Arvindraja, I don't think this plugin is compatible with VS 2013.
I am running VS 2015, and it works fine.

A good work around would be to install Android Studio, and install...

I'll sometimes use Android Studio when I design the UI because it seems to be a little more responsive than the VS AXML designer.

Now it is not supporting VS2013 before one day it was showing the status SUPPORT VS2015 VS2013, now status changed and you can see the Q AND ANS here

one thing i didn't get you are telling
I'll sometimes use Android Studio, even you use Android Studio for design purpose than how you will integrate those changes to VS xamarin
or is there any way to get Material Icons from VS2015 and start rest of all development in VS2013(i mean can we integrate VS15 Material design changes to VS13). Thanks

What I was saying is that I use Google's Android Studio to leverage the icon addon, and the designer.
    https://github.com/konifar/android-material-design-icon-generator-plugin
What this allows me to do is to generate the layouts and the icons in Google's Android Studio, and copy and paste them into my Xamarin Android project in Visual Studio 2015.

Secondly, if you have VS2015, you can install that addon, and copy and paste the icons into their correct folders.

All in all, that may be sort of an over kill to doing something so small. It's ultimately up to you on how you prefer to do things.

FFImageLoading now has a preview SVG support (it uses SkiaSharp for rendering). More here: https://forums.xamarin.com/discussion/comment/233448/#Comment_233448
