Creating a Xamarin project template in Visual Studio

Used visual studio to make a template from a working project I created using Xamarin. When I create a new project using the template the references are all messed up saying "assembly not found for framework .net portable subset" The original project was a PCL. Is there something else I'm missing?

I'm only using the template wizard build into VS2015, can this be the reason why? I don't have the space to download VSIX at the moment... But I know @JamesMontemagno Has a VSIX template for Xamarin project so this should be possible.

If you don't have the space for something that tiny, then I'd bet that's an issue. You can't expect to run right when your hard drive is full.
