Missing assemblies with Mono 3.2, Xamarin Studio 4.0.10

sfioritosfiorito USMember, Beta

Even though System.Web.Http and associated WebAPI assemblies are shipped with Mono and installed in my GAC I cannot find them from the Edit References panel. It seems to be showing only v4.0 profile assemblies even though I've changed my project to target v4.5. I've tried wiping both Mono and Xamarin and reinstalling but no go. I'm on MacOS 10.8.4.

Anyone else seeing this?

You can't reference assemblies from the GAC, it's only intended for resolving at runtime. This is true for VS/.NET too.

This sounds like a packaging issue in the Mono runtime package, it should be providing pkg-config files for all included non-framework assemblies to allow locating them at compiled time. Could you please file a bug?
