Is there even one tutorial out there on how to setup a cross-platform MonoGame project?

Hi all, hope you can help me. I been searching like crazy for just a simple tutorial on how to create a cross platform monogame project for iOS and Android. Xamarin has the getting started page (https://developer.xamarin.com/guides/cross-platform/game_development/monogame/introduction/part1/), but there is no Universal MonoGame Mobile application templatea, and I can only find this one post saying they don't exist (http://community.monogame.net/t/is-there-a-universal-monogame-mobile-application-for-xamarin-studio-windows/2581). I'd gladly create one, but I don't know how, I seriously can't find one working tutorial on how to get monogame setup on Xamarin.

Can anyone help me? I'm running the latest version of xamarin and monogame. Also I apologize for posting this in CocosSharp, but I did not know where else to post this since there is no monogame section.

    Hey Paul,

What platforms are you trying to target? I'd be glad to help you get a cross-platform solution setup.

    Hey Paul,

Are you using Xamarin Studio on OSX? If you install the MonoGame addin it comes with a "Universal MonoGame Mobile Application" template. This will create a solution that targets both iOS and Android. The third project is a shared project that will hold your game code that will be shared across the targets, including any future platforms you decide to target.

If you need something more specific, let me know and I'd be happy to help. You have any MonoGame specific questions, feel free to visit community.monogame.net, which is the official MonoGame forums. I'm on there way more often than the Xamarin forums.

ah, I was using visual studio on Windows. I didn't realize that MonoGame for VS wouldn't have the same templates. I made a project with Xamarin Studio on OSX and then copied the project over to my windows machine, and I can compile/run it in Visual Studio. Thanks for the help!

Found an example on shared code between Android and iOS in the sample project WalkingGame: https://developer.xamarin.com/samples/mobile/WalkingGameMG/
