Out of Memory during compilation

With the old MonoDevelop, there was a bug that caused the IDE/compiler to run out of memory when binding a large android native jar in a binding project. the workaround was to increase the max heap in a command line BEFORE running MonoDevelop. I had assumed that this was fixed in Xamarin Studio such that either the max heap was already large enough OR there was a place inside the IDE settings to increase the heap memory WITHOUT changing it on the command line. Are either of these assumptions true?

As far as I know, neither of these assumptions is true. Hopefully the real issue was fixed rather than adding features to Xamarin Studio to work around bugs.

Did you submit a bug report about the memory bug when binding large jars? If not and you find the bug still exists in Xamarin Studio, please submit one so that someone can look into fixing it.

  • The bug is definitely still there in Xamarin Studio. I will work with support to resolve this issue. Thanks.
