Xamarin studio doesn't let me sign and distribute my Xamarin.Form android app

I have gone through the steps on the Xamarin page and now I am trying to sign the apk through Xamarin studio.
I am following these instructions:
https://developer.xamarin.com/guides/android/deployment,testing,_and_metrics/publishing_an_application/part_2-_signing_the_android_application_package/

However when I click the Sign and distribute button the popup menu is displayed, but I can't click the next button. When I click it nothing happens and if I click it again the menu closes and nothing happens.

Is there some other way I can sign the apk?

When following these instructions
https://developer.xamarin.com/guides/android/deployment,_testing,_and_metrics/MD5_SHA1/

There was no Mono for Android directory in the Xamarin directory. I don't know why, could that be the problem?

I am a complete beginner, this is my first time ever trying to sign and publish an app.

    @HerdisMariaSigurdardottir,

    Could you share a picture of what you see? It sounds like that screen is where you have to select/create a signing certificate.

    This is the step I am thinking you are on: https://developer.xamarin.com/guides/android/deployment,testing,_and_metrics/publishing_an_application/part_2-_signing_the_android_application_package/#Create_a_New_Certificate

  • Hi I solved it. When Xamarin studio created the apk file it named it hf_design.borgarverk.apk but when the sign and distribute wizard in Xamarin studio was locating the apk file it tried to find hf-design.borgarverk.apk.I just renamed the file and in ran smoothly. I don't know if it was something I did or something else.
