Peripherals Support(like 3rd party tools support)---How to access(using code) Peripherals in mono for android and monotouch.
As Dave Hunt says, each external device has its own SDK. For example, we have successfully created an iOS binding for the Koamtac KDC300i scanner, allowing very reliable 2D scanning in our applications.
Generally external scanners give higher performance and more reliable scanning than using the internal camera (and less battery drain on the phone too).
Please elaborate on your question. It makes no sense as it is now.
I wanted to add third party Peripherals like Barcode scanner to my Android or Iphone device. So how can i access this barcode scanner in my application written in Monotouch or monoforandroid
Try out the ZXing Component in the Component store...
Will Zxing will work with native device camera or scanner only??
If i attach a barcodescanner(accessories) with my android device will this Zxing component will be helpful??
ZXing works with the Camera. As for attaching 3rd party barcode scanners, I have no idea how to get it working. I guess you will have to ask the manufacturer for an SDK to use in your app to interface with it.
There is no standard way to talk to all accessories you might attach to your device. Each accessory is different and would require an SDK provided by the manufacturer of the accessory.
