here it is in Android application i want to implement an odometer in xamarin forms for both android and ios can anyone help me with this..please?
(in the toolbar left side Label is the odometer and the right side label is the timer).
You can't add UI elements like that into the toolbar in Xamarin Forms....yet (it's been accepted as a new feature time implement). No idea when though.
Looks like a Label to me. What seems to be the problem?
@ClintStLaurent yes it is a label in which i have to show the value of odometer, when the app is start from that time i have to start the odometer and also if we close the app in that case also time and odometer shold be running in background but i am unable to do so could you please help me..
left one is the label for odometer
right one is the label for clock time
So the problem is that it is not updating when the app is backgrounded. Is that right?
What is label binded to? You keep calling it an 'odometer'. Is there a service talking to your vehicle's engine computer to get this information? A picture of your UI doesn't tell anyone here very much. Can you share the code related to this control?
i don't have code i want to implement the clock and display that time into a label like in the image.
sorry, actually its'a a chronometer, how to implement chronometer in xamarin forms @ClintStLaurent
@NMackay any idea about chronometer functionality in C#??
I'd check out this library, it might help you achieve this functionality.
There's a thread discussing something similar here.https://forums.xamarin.com/discussion/68281/how-to-use-properly-a-timer-with-thread
I haven't implemented it myself but I think AdvancedTimer is maybe the way to go.
