Untrusted HTTP certificate detected...

I started getting this error pop-up a few weeks ago when just starting Xamarin Studio on Mac. In particular it asks if I want to temporarily trust this certificate in order to connect to the server at xamarin.com. And I get two, overlapping pop-ups.

If I select "Yes" to the top one, I get another pop-up for "dl.xamarin.com", "dc.services.visualstudio.com", etc. Then after selecting "Yes" for all of those, on the original pop-up, I'm unable select neither "Yes" nor "No" and it only dismisses when I "Close" the "Xamarin Update" window which popped-up all by itself.

I suspect this is the reason why Xamarin Studio fails to update itself. I'm trying to get the latest updates. Can somebody help me resolve this problem?

All the certificates in my Keychain appear to valid and/or trusted.

Thanks.

Here's my environment information.

    @AllanChin.6924,

    This is probably related to a recent regression in Mono. It's been fixed in 4.8. You can download that here. Let me know if that does not help!

    Interesting John. I successfully installed 4.8 and on launch of XS, I didn't get the series of errors, just the one tied to the Xamarin Update window. So I rebooted and then got the original behavior with the series of errors plus the Xamarin Update one. But the Xamarin Update looks like it's still trying to update to 4.6.2.16. See screenshot.

    According to this, it looks like the update DID happen.
