It could be that you have set the constraints for a specific size class. Therefore on a different size class those constraints will not be installed. Try setting your constraints to "Any" for both width and height.
Essentially this is happening to your constraints - they are being defined in an "Exclusion Case":

Xamarin studio version : 6.1.3
Xamarin.ios : 10.2
When i downgraded to 6.1.1, the issue got resolved.
