    Hi @KarolZak ,

    Can you post the contents of Main.axml?

    thanks,

    Hey Victor,

    I don't think it's related to that content becuase designer is not working for any new projects and downloaded samples.
    But yeah, here is the code:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>

    <EditText
        android:id           ="@+id/inputBill"
        android:layout_width ="match_parent"
        android:layout_height="wrap_content" />

    <Button
        android:id           ="@+id/calculateButton"
        android:layout_width ="match_parent"
        android:layout_height="wrap_content"
        android:text         ="CALCULATE" />

    <LinearLayout
        android:layout_width ="match_parent"
        android:layout_height="wrap_content">
        <TextView
            android:text              ="Tip"
            android:layout_marginRight="20dp"
            android:layout_width      ="wrap_content"
            android:layout_height     ="wrap_content" />
        <TextView
            android:id           ="@+id/outputTip"
            android:layout_width ="match_parent"
            android:layout_height="wrap_content" />
    </LinearLayout>

    <LinearLayout
        android:layout_width ="match_parent"
        android:layout_height="wrap_content">
        <TextView
            android:text              ="Total"
            android:layout_marginRight="10dp"
            android:layout_width      ="wrap_content"
            android:layout_height     ="match_parent" />
        <TextView
            android:id           ="@+id/outputTotal"
            android:layout_width ="wrap_content"
            android:layout_height="match_parent" />
    </LinearLayout>

  • Just noticed this issue myself. New to Xamarin. Fresh install for VS 2015, but unable to go through even the simplest of projects that use the designer? Really? This is seriously the current product state?

    Bump!
    Anyone? There must be some simple solution to this as it seems to be a common problem...

    Same for me, I have never been able to get the designer working on Windows 10 VS 2015

  • I am wondering if anyone have found a resolution to this issue. I am experiencing the same issue with a fresh install of VS 2015.

  • i have the same problem

    Hmmm, I was beginning to think I was the Only one living with that error/bug or whatever they call it. Xamarin Team, I need serious help here.

    @AlfredBotchey, Could you post your version information from Help -> About Visual Studio, upload your project, and upload the zip files by going to Help -> Xamarin -> Zip Log Files?

    This would be enormously helpful for tracking down your issue! :smile:
