Batching sprites


I'm playing around with CocosSharp and according to the statistics I currently have 153 draw calls. Is this expected or bad? I'm simply adding nodes for each object. Each object is a class inherited from CCNode and Contains a SpriteNode. I then add that node to the GameLayer as a child. Each time I add a node I get one more DrawCall.

Should I inherit from CCSprite directly?

My FPS is around 40-50.
