No subversion after upgrading to 6.1

ErnestJErnestJ AUMember ✭✭✭

Hi,

Updated Xamarin Studio to version 6.1 (build 5441) and there is no SVN Version Control (again!). Old trick to install command line tools doesn't work as Xcode 8.0 installs them automatically.

Is there a new trick how to get SVN working again? Using terminal for version control is PITA.

    When I tried to update my solution through terminal on my mac it says;

    The working copy at '/Users/MyWorkingPath...' is too old (format 29) to work with client version '1.9.4 (r1740329)' (expects format 31). You need to upgrade the working copy first.

    I did "svn upgrade" and seems updating is fine but SVN support for my project is gone in Xamarin Studio. I am using the latest Xamarin Studio 6.1. I installed Xcode 8 and other command line tools. Any help would be great. Thanks!

    Thanks, once I upgraded my working copy to latest svn version, XS doesn't show svn options and says this project is not under version control..

    PITA I know. In the meantime, don't upgrade your working copies to the new file format.
    Instead, use XCodes copy of subversion (1.7) from terminal, with this command:

    /Library/Developer/CommandLineTools/usr/bin/svn

    I have this same problem, any solution?

  • OnurHazarOnurHazar USUniversity ✭✭✭

    @AdamLangley Thanks, you saved me. I am able to do svn operations through terminal (had to re checkout my working copy because already upgraded the existing one);

    /Library/Developer/CommandLineTools/usr/bin/svn update

    I also installed the beta version of Xamarin Studio 6.1.2, I can manage svn operation from IDE too.

    I found the following solution

    Is there a solution for this? I just updated to 6.1.4 (and Xcode 8 from 7) and Xamarin Studio thinks my project isn't under version control.. Command line tools are installed, I checked that. The bug report says it was fixed, but in which version?
