Xamarin.Forms Android app crashes on button command

Hi guys,

I've been having this issue for about a day now, and I can't figure out what the problem is.

I have a very standard Xamarin.Forms app. As of now it's only a login page and a registration page. The pages are hooked up to a ViewModel which contains all the localization strings and button commands. The buttons are hooked up as such:

<Button
    Style="{StaticResource DefaultButtonStyle}"
    BackgroundColor="{StaticResource PrimaryColor}"
    Text="{Binding SignupButtonText}"
    HorizontalOptions="FillAndExpand"
    Command="{Binding SignupCommand}"
    IsEnabled="{Binding ControlsEnabled}"/>

with the viewmodel declaring the SignupCommand as such:

SignupCommand = new DelegateCommand(() =>
{
    if (RegistrationRequested != null)
    {
        // Fires a request to modally show the registration page
        RegistrationRequested(this, null);
    }
});

When I deploy this app to iOS, there's no problem. When deploying to Android (simulator), this app crashes without any exception or trace when pressing one of the buttons. I have upgraded to Xamarin.Forms 2.3.0.107. There are updates to the Android.Support packages available, but they fail on update saying 'Unable to find a version of 'Xamarin.Forms' that is compatible with 'Xamarin.Android.Support.v7. 23.4.0.1'.'

Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks.
