How To Disable Button From Displaying Pressed Color Change

In a cross-platform forms project, I have buttons with transparent BackgroundColor coloring assigned to them. On my WinPhone, after pressing a button, the frame of the button seems to be filled with a baby blue coloring and becomes visible. I want it to continue to be transparent regardless of the state change.

BackgroundColor is not a button class property, but appears to be inherited. It appears to be working properly in the waiting state as it allows the page background to be seen. The problem doesn't seem to be present in the iOS and Droid phone implementations; the buttons don't flash any colors when pressed. Which element/property is controlling the pressed button coloring? For my purposes all buttons can act the same if it is a global property.
