Native Compilation

Hey,
I am working on my student research project and I am trying to find out how the compilation in Xamarin works. On the mainpage they have written, that there are two different ways for compiling apps. First with a native Compiler and the second way is to compile them with a JIT Compiler. But on the Mono project website they wrote that all projects are compiled with a JIT Compiler and then translated into native code...
Does Xamarin use different ways to dompile apps for iOS and Android? With JIT Compiler and AOT Compiler or do they use allways an JIT compiler?

Xamarin.iOS uses AOT compilation for release builds, in order to comply with iOS restrictions on dynamic code execution. On all other platforms, JIT is used.

With Mono you can still switch to AOT compilation if you want, although it's only available on some architectures and has limitations.
