This third meetup of the Dutch Mobile .NET Developers Group will take place on Thursday, June 20. All our meetups are free, a meal is included. This time around, Macaw Netherlands will host our meetup in their office located on Beechavenue 140, Schiphol-Rijk, Netherlands. Doors open at 18.00, at which time a dinner buffet is available. Sessions start at 19.00.
We will have two sessions this evening:
Maximize code reuse across iOS, Android and Windows apps with shared and composite view models
Vincent Hoogendoorn and Sander Egberink
In this session, Vincent Hoogendoorn and Sander Egberink will share their experiences using an MVVM-like pattern for maximizing code share across iOS, Android and Windows apps using C# (Xamarin, Visual Studio). The potential of this approach, compared to an MVC-like pattern, is being able to share more navigation code and view specific code. They will also show how to create composite view models per view (using iOS Container Views, Android Fragments and Windows User Controls) to maximize reuse of view models across different screen sizes and devices.
The power of the cloud in your app
Cloud platforms enable you to create and use powerful and scalable scenario's. Setting up a good back end usually takes up more than 50% development time.
In this session, Wouter Hibma will show how "Mobile Backend as a Service (MBaaS)" cloud services help you quickly set up and create a backend that can be used in your apps through API's.
Both sessions will be in Dutch.
