“Make My Day” – Probation Officers are Online and On the Streets in San Diego
Smartphones are becoming a personal hub to connect remote field workers to internal systems, services, external sensors and wearable devices. For field workers, access to the right data at the right time is a critical enabler for providing higher quality services to customers. Users want solutions to “just work”, but in practical terms there are significant challenges addressing interoperability and data standards between the different systems.
This presentation will be based on a HP developed Xamarin application used by San Diego County Probation Officers to manage their case loads, and the exciting opportunities that exist using Android Wear and smartwatches so officers can be hands-free with access to the right information at the right time on their wrist. In the session, we will cover what’s needed to extend your applications to run on a wearable device, how to sync data between devices and other tips.
