Error while debugging values

I have problem when watching a value of type Nullable in debugging mode

decimal? myDecimal = System.Convert.ToDecimal("3.0");

When I watch the value of myDecimal in Visual Studio see the following exception in the output window

System.FormatException: Input string was not in a correct format.
