System.MissingMethodException: Method not found: 'Cairo.Context.SetSourceColor'

Just installed the latest stable Xamarin Studio (5.5.3) on Yosomite
When i now try to start it, it fails to come up and i see the following error in the Ide.log

ERROR [2014-10-30 10:14:09Z]: An unhandled exception has occured. Terminating MonoDevelop? True
System.MissingMethodException: Method not found: 'Cairo.Context.SetSourceColor'.

Missing method Cairo.Context::SetSourceColor(Color) in assembly /Library/Frameworks/Mono.framework/Versions/3.6.0/lib/mono/gac/Mono.Cairo/2.0.0.0__0738eb9f132ed756/Mono.Cairo.dll, referenced in assembly /Applications/Xamarin Studio.app/Contents/Resources/lib/monodevelop/AddIns/Xamarin.Ide/Xamarin.Ide.dll

Has someone a fix for that?

  • I downloaded and installed the latest Mono MDK (3.10.0_19) and now the studio starts again.
