    Hi,
Did you ever find out what is wrong? I am having this issue now with a brand new project.

My Workspace in Visual studio was corrupt. To save work i checked in the code. go to workspaces and created a new one. And got latest on a new location and deleted the old one and everything worked. this has nothing to do with you code.

This is a little old but figured I would tell you how I resolved this. My thought is the directory structure was too long. My path was C:\Users\dwain.DESKTOP-PBV6NB0\Downloads\xamarin-samples\xamarin samples\GetStarted\Tutorials\LocalDatabaseTutorial\LocalDatabaseTutorial\

So to solve the issue I created a new folder eg Xamarin copied the LocalDatabaseTutorial folder started the csprog added the Android and IOS projects which created a new .sln file Had to remove old references and add the reference to the other projects Problem solved.
