Xamarin.Forms targeting a non-existent Android API

AlmightytreeAlmightytree Member ✭✭

Hey everyone,

I recently updated Xamarin.Forms to 4.6.0.800. Upon updating and trying to compile the android APK, it threw an error stating that I needed to target a higher version of Android. No big deal, I targeted the newest available version of Android(10.0.99 API Level 30). And then it threw this error:

filepath/Xamarin/Android/Xamarin.Android.Common.targets(2,2): Error XA5207: Could not find android.jar for API level R. This means the Android SDK platform for API level R is not installed. Either install it in the Android SDK Manager (Tools > Open Android SDK Manager...), or change the Xamarin.Android project to target an API version that is installed. (/filepath/android-R/android.jar missing.) (XA5207) (ProjectName.Android)

It is my understanding that Android R has yet to be released and the SDK manager has no option to install any such API level. I cannot compile iOS either as it is giving me the same error for the project. Does anyone have a solution or a workaround to this error?

Visual Studio for Mac (Version 8.6.1)

Thanks in advance.
