SkiaSharp is developed for all .Net platforms so it will contain .Net Framework dependencies.
But we need to use .Net Standard in Xamarin Forms. Xamarin Forms should not reference .Net Framework libraries.
So this is not an issue of Visual Studio.
Please check your project's references.
Here are the references of the sample: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/samples/xamarin/xamarin-forms-samples/skiasharpforms-demos/
You will see it supports Forms 4.5 and the corresponding Xamarin iOS, Xamarin Android..., etc.
I downloaded the demo code. It has \a NU165 warning. It is using Skiasharp 1.60, 2/28/28 (over two years ago), and, it lists nothing under dependencies...https://www.nuget.org/packages/SkiaSharp/ ...https://www.nuget.org/packages/SkiaSharp/1.60.0 Dependancies are added stating with 1.68.1-rc.147.
I see that on this page...https://www.nuget.org/packages/SkiaSharp/, that 188.8.131.52 is highlighted, I assume that means that it is the last stable build (?). The latest is 1.68.2-preview.60. The dependencies have changed to include .Net Framework 6.2 in preview 1.68.2-preview.39.
Is there anything that is using the latest Visual Studio 2019 (I am using 16.5.4), with the latest version of Skiasharp. A real simple "Hello world" would do.
I guess that one of the things that confuses me is that in the Demo project, properties, Target Framework, the demo project shows .Net Standard 2.0. This page...https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/standard/net-standard, under the Net standard 2.0 column, shows 4.6.1. Does that mean that previous versions of .Net are covered, or does that mean that you have to click on 'Install other frameworks", to install a specific framework, which brings you to https://dotnet.microsoft.com/download/visual-studio-sdks?utm_source=getdotnetsdk&utm_medium=referral, where 4.5 does not have a developer pack. In other words, leaving .Net standard 2.0 automaticalls included all frameworks up to 6.1, or, do I really need to add a specific framework to get Skiasharrp to run?
