Can't build for iPhone XR simulator

Using Visual Studio for Mac 8.4.4 (build 91)

Getting the following error: Error: System.IO.DirectoryNotFoundException: Could not find a part of the path "/Users/donmesserli/.../xxxxx.iOS/obj/iPhoneSimulator/Debug/device-builds/iphone x??-13.2/actool/bundle/[email protected]

Notice the two question marks after "iphone x". I'm assuming that they are that way because they are Unicode character. The actual directory name is "iphone xʀ-13.2".

Anyone seeing this happen?

This is still happening in Visual Studio Mac 8.5.0 (build 3183).

Ran into this issue today and managed to solve it by renaming the iPhone Xʀ simulator in Xcode to iPhone Xr. The special ʀ character caused the problem when accessing the simulators directory.

Just wanted to mention that jopmiddelkamp's solution worked perfectly for me. Thanks!
