How to manually create an Ipa file for iOS simulator platform build?

I need to test an application on a iOS simulator, but the iPA option cannot be checked for iOS simulator build. The ipa does not generate even though I manually modify the configuration xml file -addTrue. Is there a way to work around that?

Turn on Build Itunes Package Archiive(IPA) in iOS IPA Options , and before that , you should select platform as Phone not IphoneSimulator .

    VS for Windows

    VS for Mac

    Details please refer https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/xamarin/ios/deploy-test/app-distribution/ipa-support?tabs=macos .

You should not need to build an IPA to test on a simulator, just build and deploy for a simulator... no IPA required.
