I'm searching for a way to access the file system of the Android Emulator as if it is connected via USB. Any hints?
If you can see the folder to which you want to copy the file, then you should be able to do this with the Device Monitor.
In the toolbar above the file explorer (in Device Monitor), there's an icon with an arrow pointing to a phone. This allows you to copy to the device.
I would post a screenshot, but the forum image tool seems to have lost the ability to post local files!
Although shouldn't the file be transferred by your app? Or is this just for testing during development?
You should be able to use Device Monitor (from the Tools menu in VS). The emulator shows up there, and you can then browse the file system.
However, depending on the system image, you may not have access to the /data folder under which app data is created.
Yes, I can use the Device Monitor to browse the file system. But I'm looking for a way to copy a file to the device. I've got a "Kit Kat 4.4 - API 19" emulator and currently I'm going to develop a Cross-platform APP where I need to move an input file to the device for further processing.
That was the hint I needed. Thanks a lot. I searched the menu but did not recognize the icons.
