COM Exception in Visual Studio when trying to connect to another project running on local host

I have a Xamarin project and an API project both running on localhost through Visual Studio. I am trying to make a call to the localhost API endpoint through my Xamarin project locally. When trying to hit the endpoint, even if I change it from localhost to my IP itself, I get a COM Exception. Has anyone else experienced this and is there a solution? I use to be able to hit local project fine years ago with web projects.

" InnerException = {System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x80072EFD): The text associated with this error code could not be found."

Also note that I can hit the same API end point just fine via browser or Postman. This is only when trying to hit it within another Visual Studio project
