Problem when saving Main.Storyboard

When I open my Main.Storyboard file in Visual Studio on Windows 10, the file immediately shows that changes have been made. When trying to save the the file, I am asked to overwrite the existing file (which does not seem like normal behavior). When I select to replace the existing file, a box pops up and says "Object reference not set to an instance of an object." The file does not successfully save.

Have you tried to open this storyboard file with XCode? It seems some configurations has been broken on this storyboard.
Check your corresponding design files to see whether something has been referenced to an non-existent control.
Also try to remove the bin and obj folders then clean and rebuild your project. There may be some caches in your solution.
