Cannot create a project without Version Control.

I'm not sure if it's a bug, or not.. but when I create a new project with VS for Mac I uncheck "Use git for version control", but I still see "(master)" suffix after my project name.

Here's the quick video:

I'm a little bit confused. Thanks for help

I notice on your video, you created a new ASP .NET Core project.

Does this issue also occur when you build a Xamarin project?

I've tried, ConsoleApp, Xamarin.Forms and Native iOS/Android projects. Same behavior. I'm not sure, if this is a bug or not. The whole integration with git is a little bit mysterious. Do you have the same?

I would guess that Visual Studio for Mac is finding a git repository somewhere in one of the parent directories being used /Users/ww/Projects. I would look for any .git directories. These will be hidden by default, but you should be able to view them in Finder by pressing Command+Shift+'.'

@mattward It looks like the problem went away. Can't reproduce it anymore. Maybe it was about .git directories in parent folders.. but I'm not sure 100%. I would say there wasn't.

In any event, I would accept last answer, but.. I'm not exactly sure how

    Thanks!
