App not starting on iOS 9.3 simulator

Hi,

Which simulator? You only mentioned iOS version.
Can you run the app manually on the simulator?
Can you deploy and run a hello world app to the same simulator?

Thanks for your reply. I am using iPad Air 9.3.0. I cannot even get a blank app running on it.

Can you run the app manually on the simulator?
Sorry I'm not sure how do I do it? I have tried running the app without debug and still crashes.

You said the app deploys to the simulator. So tap the app icon on the simulator to see if you can run it manually.

Can you get it to run on an iPhone 6 simulator?
Can you get it to run on an iPhone 5 simulator?

Yes, I tried that as well but no joy. Tried on iPhone 5 and 6 as well but not working. It looks like an issue with Mac OS version I am running. https://github.com/xamarin/xamarin-macios/issues/4741#issuecomment-419790225
but the build should work fine on the real device I think.

Had the same issue even though my XCode is the latest (10.1) and my Visual Studio for Mac is 100% up to date. I managed to test on an old iPad Mini 2 my wife had running iOS 9.3.5 and it worked (after changing the CPU architecture of the project to support the pre 64 bit processors as well) - so its definitely a simulator issue not a an actual iOS issue. Good to know it works on the actual hardware, though I hope Apple fixes it in XCode 10.2 update of the simulators

Same - all iOS 9.3 simulators fail to start the app :(
"Apple doesn't support iOS 9.3 simulator on macOS Mojave" - yikes :|
