Git branches and Xamarin Studio

Ive made a git branch to do my fresh development. To that branch I added a bunch of new files. When I switch back to master I get a bunch of CS2001 errors on compile after a clean build. Do I have to add the solution or the .csproj to git for it to work with branching properly? I am used to adding such files to .gitignore in the java world because there I have gradle/maven to regenerate my project files so a tad confused.

Best Regards,

Yes, the csproj should be added to git. It contains a list of the files that make up your project, and the settings and target imports used to build them. It's essentially equivalent to a a makefile.
