UITest on App Center - accepting notification permissions dialog on iOS

JamesLaveryJamesLavery GBBeta, University ✭✭✭✭✭

Posting here as there seems to be no other support forum for App Center and UITest.

Our app uses Push Notifications, and so when it is first installed on an iOS device, the OS displays a permissions dialog.

When running tests remotely in Microsoft App Center, this dialog is preventing progress through to the main screen.

How can we automatically accept this dialog?

When examining using repl() and tree, the dialog isn't showing in the UI elements, so we can't access it from UITEST.

This post discusses it but doesn't have a solution.

Versions: Xamarin.UITest 2.2.5 Test device: iOS 11.1.2

Same issue here @JamesLavery did you found any solution?

Anyone have a solution for this? I was able to run my android app on a simulator and was able to access the dialog UI elements using repl() tree. However, Can't run the repl() for iOS as I'm using a windows machine and it won't support the tests on simulator. Thanks in advance.

Same issue here, a system dialog is blocking the test. Any change to this situation since 2018?

I am fed up with xamarin UI test. it doesn't support iOS There are hell lot of issues for which there are no solutions till date. One issue is this system notification handling and weird "Unknown MSBuild error" close and restart the application.
