Accessing other applications defaults

VRahikkaVRahikka Member ✭✭

I need to access other applications settings (defaults) from my Mac application. I need to see if the other application is using correct shortcut file. I have been playing around with NSUserDefaults and I guess it only contains global defaults and my application defaults. Is it even possible to access other applications settings (defaults)? My app is not Sandboxed.

Workaround for this is just run terminal call "defaults read KeyboardShortcuts" in my application.

It would rather surprise me that there would be an API to allow you to access other application settings, Apple tends to frown upon that and wouldn't make it easy.

Shelling out to the terminal might be your best bet.

Thanks! That was my guess as well.
