Xamarin for students

JochemGJochemG BEMember

Dear Xamarin staff

We had a live presentation at school today from a company (FlowPilots.com) that's really enthusiastic about your IDE. As a Computer Science student I'm familiar with the downsides of mobile development (writing the same code over and over again for each platform; having to use, in my opinion, the ugly Objective C; ...)

This presentation really convinced me into wanting to try Xamarin (especially the Visual Studio plugin, as I don't own a mac). However after seeing the prices, I realized that I might not be able to use it for the next few years to come. $999/year is far over my student budget, so I was wondering if there is a possibility to receive a student license?

If the IDE works as good as I was told, I'll keep using it and I'll definitely recommend it to my future employers/employees/those of interest.

Thanks in advance.

Kind regards,
Jochem G., student PXL Belgium
