Prayer Times Notifications - Local or OneSignal?

Hi,

I have an app for prayer time notifications which will notify the user five times a day (not fixed times).

I will download the prayer times to the device and save it using SettingsPlugin so it will have it locally,

But what's the best practice to send the notification to the user?

Shall I Send local notification from my iOS and Android? or use OneSignal to send the notifications?

and if I send locally then how will I be able to track or check the analysis?

Kindly advise..

Thanks,
Jassim

I think local notifications will do it but what do you mean by "check the analysis"?

You can make your own little API to handle notifications and send them off using Firebase. You could use analytics to send back information about whether or not a user received the notification or clicked on it.

I'm also going to leave my concerns about OneSignal here that I left in another thread:

While OneSignal provides a great service, you have to keep their privacy policy in mind.
They collect all sorts of information from the users such as apps installed, their precise location etc..
If you're using OneSignal without an enterprise plan which excludes all this information, your app has to carry that burden.
Especially now with the GDPR you have to explicitly inform users about everything you and your partners (OneSignal in this case) collect and what it is used for and ask for consent.
While I personally have nothing to hide and would be fine with such information being collected, I highly doubt that the majority of users are thinking the same way about this.
